Why We Should #MakeWaterFreeAgain

“I am old enough to remember the first time I saw bottled water for sale next to orange juice and soda. I couldn’t believe it, I thought it was a crazy marketing experiment that would disappear as suddenly as it appeared. And yet, today bottled water is sometimes more expensive than beer.”

About WaterStars

Why Free Water Should be Normal

A big change happened during the 21st Century, water changed from a free, basic human right, to a commercial commodity that is exploited by big business, and small retailers alike.

This is wrong! Clean water and clean air should be free. They are basic human rights. In 2010 the United Nations General Assembly acknowledged that “clean drinking water is essential to the realisation of all human rights”.

Our kids have been brainwashed into believing that water is a corporate commodity can be found in some of Australia’s largest shopping malls. These facilities serve many millions of shoppers each year, often there is not a single water fountain to be found.

Some airlines no longer offer free water to passengers, even if needed to swallow medication.

The problem is even worse in countries like Germany, where restaurants force you to buy water and ban drinking water from your own water bottle!
